기후위기에 대응하려면 재생에너지를 더 빠르게 늘려야 한다는 목소리가 커지고 있습니다. 하지만 속도를 내기 위해서는 전기를 많이 쓰는 지역 근처에 실제로 설치할 수 있는 부지를 미리 확보하는 것이 중요합니다. 현재는 지자체의 공간계획이 충분하지 않은 상태에서 사업이 추진되다 보니, 생태적으로 민감한 지역까지 사전 검토 없이 개발되는 경우가 생기고 있습니다. 이러한 상황은 지역 주민들의 반발로 이어지고,  결국 재생에너지 확대를 더 어렵게 만드는 악순환을 낳고 있습니다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해  박지혜 의원(의정부시갑)은 2026년 3월 30일 「기후위기 대응을 위한 탄소중립·녹색성장 기본법 일부개정법률안」을 대표 발의했습니다. 앞으로 법안 개정을 위한 다양한 논의를 통해 더 나은 방향을 함께 모색해 나가고자 합니다. 많은 관심과 참여 바랍니다.

작은 문제의식에서 출발한 하나의 아이디어는 세상을 바꾸는 실험이 되고, 이러한 실험들이 모여 더 큰 변화를 만들어냅니다.

숲과나눔과 카카오뱅크는 창의적이고 혁신적인 아이디어를 가진 청년들이 환경문제 해결의 주체로 성장할 수 있도록 ‘에코임팩트’를 통해 지원합니다.

[공간풀숲] 2026 오픈콜 심사 결과 발표

유랑단 평화바람

주형지, 백지현

3인의 심사위원이 제출된 자료를 면밀히 검토하고, 객관적이고 공정한 심사를 거쳐 생태미술의 새로운 화두를 제시할 두 팀을 최종 선정하였습니다.

<유랑단 평화바람>은 ‘새만금신공항’ 건설이 초래할 수 있는 폭력과 파괴, 그리고 사회적 갈등의 문제를 깊이 있게 조망하며, 
새만금에 서식하는 생명들의 삶과 평화를 지키기 위해 시민(관객)과의 연대를 모색하는 전시를 기획하였습니다. 
동시대 생태적 쟁점을 예술적 실천으로 확장하려는 태도가 인상적이었습니다.

<주형지, 백지현>은 체험적 공감각과 생태성을 결합하여, 전시를 단순한 결과물이 아닌 하나의 커뮤니케이션 허브이자 
일시적 공동체로 바라보는 관점을 제안하였습니다. 
전시 공간을 관계와 소통의 장으로 확장한 점이 특히 흥미롭게 평가되었습니다.

이번 오픈콜에 지원해주신 53개 팀 모든 분들께 깊이 감사드립니다.
선정된 두 팀의 전시가 공간풀숲에서 어떤 새로운 장면을 펼쳐낼지 기대합니다.

PadyaKalikasan is a campaign that aims to create a bicycle-friendly community and to advocate eco-friendly mobility that incorporates climate change mitigation; advancing climate-resilient and low-carbon development. It encompasses: (1) Equipping the community with bicycle parking stations, (2) Introduce and implement bike sharing system in the community, (3) Integrate environmental awareness in the community and (4) Establish a network with the local government, academe and other organizations to advocate policies for specified bike lanes. The key issues to be solved by the team are noticeable absence of proper bike lanes, and end-of-trip facilities in the region, the overreliance on private, motorized vehicles significantly contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, traffic congestion, and public health risks caused by air pollution and without access to eco-friendly transport options such as bicycles and e-bikes, many communities remain dependent on carbon-emitting vehicle. Hence, iKilos Bayugan aims to increased mobility access through the introduction of bike-sharing systems and bike racks improves daily mobility in the community; strengthen community collaboration among youth, pedestrians, school, government agency and civil society for active mobility; promotes sense of ownership by involving people in common environmental causes; incorporate actual demand and usage patterns as a key metric into the classification of bicycle lanes through the insightful discussion; and help the City Transport and Traffic Management Department of City Government of Butuan make informed decisions about where to prioritize the proposed bike lanes and other important infrastructure.

2. Project progress up to now 

·        The team started to procure city bicycles and construct of bike racks.

·        The team successfully convened the Green Citizens Assembly, inspired from the Korea SHE Foundation’s Bicycle Forum, a focused group discussion that brought together key stakeholders to shape the future of sustainable mobility in the region. Held in partnership with the Butuan City Transportation and Traffic Management Department (CTTMD) and joined by local pedestrians, cyclists, and Climate Reality Project Philippines Leader, the assembly provided a platform to share insights, concerns, and aspirations for a more inclusive, low-carbon transportation system and infrastructure. Discussions centered on the 2024 Bicycle Count Report by Bilang Siklista under the Mobility Awards, community perceptions on active transport, and the ongoing initiatives of the City Government of Butuan to prioritize non-motorized and public modes of mobility.

·        The team had a productive meeting with Dr. Adelyne Costelo-Abrea, Executive Director and Provost of Philippine Normal University Mindanao, and Dr. Gregie P. Tampon, Head of the Student Affairs and Services Unit, to explore the feasibility of implementing PadyaKalikasan’s bike-sharing system and building a meaningful partnership for sustainable, low-carbon mobility on campus on May 8, 2025.

·        The team represented by Sheen Ochavo and Kyrelle Catoto visited Cambodia last July 8-9 to share ecological bike advocacy in Caraga Region. During this time also, we contacted a writer and an illustrator to create a storybook on the culture of cycling for environment action.

·        On 14^th of July, we have initiated a survey for feasibility study on the implementation of bike sharing system in Bayugan City. We also posted in our social media pages an explainer about a bike sharing system and its benefits.

·        The team posted the conduct of bike ride in the vicinity of Bayugan City on August 3. The team and the invited participants will visit the key areas in the said Bayugan to check the feasibility of bike sharing.

·        iKilos Bayugan successfully conducted Bentoy, Bisikleta at ang Bukas, at Timber City Academy on July 30, featuring a live storytelling session by Jofred James Gerasmio, author of the newly published storybook \"Nang Matutong Magbisikleta si Bentoy\" illustrated by Jaylor Malnegro. The Grade 12 HUMSS students also participated in engaging environmental education activities and the school library received copies of the storybook, fostering awareness and inspiring action for a more sustainable future.

3. Project plan forward

·        The team will participate the conduct of Active Transport Planning Workshop with City Government of Butuan, through City Transportation and Traffic Management Department (CTTMD) and in partnership of Department of Transportation (DOTr) for the development of City’s Active Transport Plan.

·        Local bikers will once again be invited to participate in the Green Citizens Assembly, an open discussion and sharing of insights on the ongoing development of active transport in Butuan City. All inputs will be consolidated and formally submitted to the Office of the City Mayor to help guide future policies and improvements of Active Transport Program.

·        Bicycles and bike racks procured by the team will be distributed to selected schools/communities for the implementation and launching of a bike sharing. Partnered schools will also be provided with systems and support tailored to their specific needs to ensure the proper use, maintenance, and sustainability of the bike-sharing system.
