1. Project description

The Project \"Raising awareness on occupational safety and health for female workers: Phase 1 - Group of workers without a formal contract\" aims to address the urgent need to raise awareness of occupational safety for female workers who work under informal conditions. This group of workers is particularly vulnerable, which makes raising awareness on occupational safety and health for them extremely crucial. The project consists of the following activities: (1) Introducing policies and laws related to occupational safety and health assurance for female workers without formal contracts, (2) Communicating and raising awareness among workers on safe working practices, including labor protection measures, and (3) Establishing a core group of women in the group of female freelance workers to provide support and assistance to other women in their own communities to improve their understanding of safe labor practices.

2. Project progress up to now

The project has three implementation steps.

1. Development of training materials: This step involves creating documents that focus on reviewing Vietnam\\\\\\\'s legal framework related to the rights and obligations of workers in implementing occupational safety and health protection. The documents will specifically address workers without formal contracts, with a particular emphasis on female workers.

2. Organization of training courses: In this step, training sessions and awareness campaigns will be conducted for workers (without formal contracts) based on the materials compiled in step 1. (The primary goal is to reach and engage 50 to 150 employees

3. Evaluation and project report completion: this report will summarize the entire project\\\\\\\'s activities and outcomes.

Currently, the project has completed step 1 (Development of training materials). The training courses are scheduled to be held in August 2023.
