1. Project  description

We are working at conserving, protecting and rehabilitating riparian land along River Ezava in Vihiga County while opening up opportunities for youth & women empowerment through Climate Smart 7 Conservation Agriculture. Our work is carried out through:

a.  Production  of  Fruit,  bamboo  and  Indigenous  Tree  Sededlings.
b.  Supporting  farmers  to  set  up  model  passion  fruit  and  African  Leafy  vegetables  farms.
c.  Offering  community  training  and  education  on  environmental  conservation.
d.  Community  tree  planting  initiatives.

2.  Project  progress  up  to  now

We  have  set up fruit, bamboo and Indigenous  tree  seedling  nurseries  producing  at  least 200,000 seedlings  every  year.
We  have  supported  136  farmers  set  up  model  passion  fruit  and  African  Leafy  Vegetable  farms. 
We  have  trained  over  2000  youth  and  women  on  climate  smart  and  conservation  agriculture. 
We  have  planted  over  23,000  trees.

3.  Project  plan  forward

Scaling  of  project  activities  to  reach  1000  farmers  in  three  years. 
Training  of  10,000  youth  and  women.
Setting up a mega-model farm for farmers to actively learn from.
